Completing a PhD is a major project - in my case as an individual. Many different components to manage - references (using Mendeley), grant applications, multiple timelines and monthly reports, etc
Is anybody using Jira to manage their own PhD?
Considering a PhD is a 4 year commitment (at least!), is the time to learn the platform a worthwhile investment?
Maybe a combination of JIRA and Confluence perhaps - thinking of PhD the first thing that comes to my mind is lots of documentation so Confluence will have a big role to play there.
There are a number of reference management software solutions including Mendeley and EndNote which are indispensable for research higher degree. Confluence may work to integrate references with specific tasks. Thanks for the suggestion - I will check it out.

Hi @Steve Haines did you manage to use jira for your phd completion. I'm also working to use Jira to manage my PG dissertation. Could you share some of experience in managing your PHD with project management tools like jira and others
