Application Link: connect Jira to Azure

I'd like to know if this flow could work.

I'm thinking of configuring an application link in Jira that connects to MS graph to access AD and SharePoint data via rest api calls.

I registered an app in Azure, which provides me a client ID and a client secret together with all kind of endpoints. With that ID/secret I can generate a 1h lasting token that can be used to do the real api call.

My idea would be to link the two platforms via "application link", then, via groovy behaviour to access AD resources.

First I would get a valid token using the application link, so no need to put ID/secret credentials in my groovy code, then I could use that token to do a REST api call to the graph to retrieve the data I need.
