Approval Check Boxes

We want to add a field inside a Jira task. We wish more than one developer to approve a task in this field.

The reason for this requirement is that there are more than one developer manager need to review a code (code review). Is it possible to create a custom field such as multiple names appearing with check boxes near their name? Or is there any existing function for this kind of a task?

As the people in this thread have already mentioned, a checklist app like Smart Checklist should do the trick. You can document the code review process step by step, mention users, add dates, and use Markdown formatting to make the whole checklist much more readable. 

As for the checkbox custom field - I don't think it will work in your case. You can try the user picker (multiple users) if you are going the custom fields route on a company-managed project.

@Aron Gombas _Midori_ is right - a checklist app could serve this purpose perfectly. 

I'd like to recommend our Issue Checklist for Jira target=_blankFree. The Checklist functionality it offers is perfect for managing peer reviews. If you go for Issue Checklist for Jira target=_blankPro, you can even have automated emails sent to people when they are mentioned in a checklist, and have them applied with an automation rule on issue transition, so the moment an issue goes to In Review status, a checklist for reviewers can be added that mentions specific people.

You have two options basically:

1. Use the custom field types that provide checkbox lists. They may be a bit different in team-managed and company-managed project, so try if the one offered meets your expectations.
2. Or, you could try one of the approval apps. No surprise, multiple options! :-)
3. Or, you could try one of the checklist apps. There are multiple options here, too.
