Hi Community,
In a certain workflow i have particular statuses.
I need an approve step in order to proceed or not from status A to status B.
From Backlog to Select for development need to insert an approver.
To add that this is a Software type project
Thank you.
Hi @Giorgos A Tsavegias ! As an alternative for this case, you can try to use the add-on Business Process Manager, developed by my team.
Using it, you can add an approver step to your process template. It could be a single person or group of users that'll approve requests in sequential order.
Also, you can configure changing issue status after all Approvals made a decision.
Here is an online demo check it, if it's interesting for you.
Hi Giorgos,
Approvals like that are a built in function for Jira Service Management (JSM) projects. With Jira Software projects, you would need to create some custom fields and apply additional transitions and conditions. But it would be a lot of extra work and not as user friendly.

Since it is a software project, keep in mind that you need to give a license to a user who will take approve action.
Simply, you should create one new status between status A and B. You can either set an automatic approver via post-function or allow users choose the approver via transition screen. Then approver(assignee) can approve (to B) or reject(to A) the issue.

Hello @Giorgos A Tsavegias For jira software there is no option like ( approve step) for status . The (Add Approval ) option is only available for Jira Service Management projects.
Thanks ,
