Are Cloud Federations possible?

Is it possible to have multiple cloud instances of JIRA OnDemand linked to the same Confluence? (like a cloud "federation")

My company has a need to separate divisions into multiple JIRA instances. Currently we are running JIRA onDemand in the cloud and Confluence. I see a lot of information about creating federations on premise/server, but I'm not seeing any confirmation that this is doable in the cloud.

It's just "Cloud".  Ondemand went away years ago, barring some legacy references.

Cloud systems don't support any form of federation yet.  Each one is separate and there's nothing for integrating them together.  However, there should be no problem setting up multiple application links to other Cloud Jira and Confluence systems.
