Hi,
I see the "team project" type was initially named next-gen and wonder if the plan is to sunset the company-managed (classic) projects.
As we plan the transition, I'm trying to understand if I can build on the current company-managed type or should base the design on the team project right away to avoid the changes later.
Thank you
I can't even begin to imagine that being a realistic consideration at any time.
I'm with you on this
Team-managed projects have a very very long way to go before they could replace company managed projects. They need to implement cross-project working, shared fields, common workflows, shared permissions, and and and. Probably most importantly, they'd have to remove the ability for teams to configure their project in ways that break all the shared working things.
I don't think that's ever going to happen, because they would have to turn into Company Managed projects! (But I can see CMPs making use of the tech under TMPs)

Thank you, @Rob Horan , I was hoping for clarification from the product owner, glad you answered!
One thing less to worry about!

Hey @Inna S
I seriously doubt it. Aiming with Jira at many different kinds of teams and also corporations, it would be a weird move to remove an enterprise feature from the product when it's not necessary. The two types of projects are designed to cater to different needs and audiences. I would not be worried. š¤š¼
