Are Jira on-premise API going to change on basis of GDPR (like removal of userid and username)?

Nimish Nalan December 27, 2018

Jira cloud and Jira server versions go hand in hand.

Jira cloud is going to deprecate some of the API. The documentation is here:

 https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/

Is there any Jira Server version for which these changes are going to happen?

Hi Nimish,

Jira Cloud and Server versions do not go hand in hand. They are developed separately and some features are released for Cloud and not Server and vice versa.

You can find any updates for the Jira Server API version here:

Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

So, like in Jira cloud version, whether there is any version for Jira Server, in which the API relating to user is going to get deprecated? As I was not able to find any API deprecation like in this(For Jira Server version):

 https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/

I wanted to ask, like as specified above, are any of these changes going to be made for any version of Jira Server?

Thanks and regards,

Nimish Nalan

Hi Nimish,

Any API deprecations for Jira Server would be listed on the Latest Updates page I linked.

If something is deprecated in Cloud, it is no indication that the same may happen for Server too, so I would recommend keeping an eye on that page.

Regards,

Shannon
