Are comments, dev branch, and attachments moved when Moving Issues?

Pam Heishman March 6, 2019

We are using next-gen project, but think we need the functionality in a classic project.  If I migrate by moving issues,  I want to know if I will lose any information.

I confirmed I will lose story point values (two story point fields in nextgen vs classic) and I see that Report data will be lost.

Will any Activity (e.g. history, comments), Attachments, Dev branch/commit info move over to the new project?

Thank you!

Hi Pam,

Indeed, as Taranjeet mentioned it is best to try moving one test issue.

I can confirm that you will loose the values for the story points, Epic (if the issue has an epic) and also the development info.

The development info will be lost because the issue key will change and branches/commits will remain with the old issue key.

@Pam Heishman I would suggest to create a test issue in your source next-gen project that contains history, comments, Attachments & dev branch/commit. Then try to move only this test issue from next-gen project to a newly created Classic project. Hope this test will provide answers to your doubts.
