I want to upgrade jira from 7.1.9 to 8.0, can anyone suggest me if I upgrade the version my existing data will remains there or not? what are the changes will occur in my existing Jira project. Please suggest.

As @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-  said, read the release notes. As for your data question, all of your data will be safe. As with any major upgrade, I would advise confirming you have a full backup available before starting work.

If you made any customizations to Jira you should back them up before upgrading.

For the changes, have a skim the release notes for Jira 7.2, 7.3 etc through to 8.0.
