Ask Subtask summary during transition where subtask is created by postfunction

Hi,

Using scriptrunner for JIRA on server version, I have configured a postfunction to trigger the creation of a subtask from a transition in my workflow. This works fine.

However, I would like to setup a popup screen to ask the user to fill the subtask summary. I know how to configure a screen for a transition but I have no clue how to expose the subtask summary field in this screen (if possible or sensible at all). Should I configure a custom field in this screen that I copy later in the subtask summary via a custom script in the scriptrunner transition?

There's no way to do this - post-functions execute after the data for a transition has been gathered and validated.  They have no connection to the UI.

Your suggestion of a "sub-task summary" field on the parent issue, exposed during transition and copied later is probably the easiest way to achieve this.

+1 for Nic's approach. I'd put that "sub-task summary" on the transition screen only, use it for creating the sub-task and delete its value afterwards.
