I have scenario where the defect is assigned to the developer after it gets reviewed by the QA tester.
I have create subtask screen which creates a new defect (any one can open a defect) but I would like the QA testers group only to be able to assign the defect after reviewing. I tried to edit the work flow properties for the defect status (New defect) but it did not work. How do I make sure that the edit and assign button are available only for QA user group .
I have scripturnner , can I hide the button only for certain status . Let me know if you have any other solution
May i know do you want this restriction on specific stratus or all time?
If you want this restriction on specific status then you can user workflow properties on that specific status.
If you want all time restriction after creation of defect then you can give assign issue permission/Edit issue permission to QA user group only for defect issue type only.
Please accept the answer if it helps
Thanks,
sachin
Take a look at using workflow properties. These can be used to limit permissions for certain actions based on the current status of an issue.
