Attachment add on with ability to open direct from jira and save to jira

does anyone know if there are add on where we can open an excel file that is in jira in the attachment folder and make edits and save without having to save to the desktop and drag into jira and then delete the old one?

You're right its only available on server.

I'm not aware of any solutions for this in Jira Cloud (like this one for Server), but this definitely possible in Confluence (see here if you want to explore a solution using Confluence instead).

You might also find some helpful hints in this older answer, as well.
