Jira Transition screen has some custom fields along with Attachment field.
I try to attach one document and then click on the button and the validator throws an error that i need to fill some custom fields before I submit.
So at this point of time I fill the remaining custom fields but the attached file previously was no more.So again I have to reattach the same doc and then submit.
Is there an way that I can sustain the attached file?
What version of Jira are you using?
What validator are you using in this workflow?
Some background: I tried to reproduce this problem in my own Jira 7.9.2 instance using scriptrunner (only for the sake of a clear validator, I used a field changed validator in my test). I created a new screen, assigned it to a specific transition, included a validator on that transition, published my changes, and then transitioned an issue here.
In my case, the attachment did not disappear from the screen just because my first attempt to complete the transition did not mean my validator. I was then able to change a field, and complete the transition and have the attachment added. So I am concerned that perhaps you're using a different version of Jira, or there might me something different about your validator that might be a cause of this behavior.
I have the same problem.
I created a screen, putted it in a transition with Assignee, Attachment and Comment fields, when I first attach a file and then try to transition the issue, my validor prevent it to be done because I also need to write a comment. At this momment I don't have my file attached anymore and I need to upload it again.
My Jira version is 7.3 and I'm using the Fields Required validator.
Any help?
Thanks and regards
