Hello Community!
I have a question/observation - one of my automations is creating a Child Issue of a different Type when the status of the Parent issue is set to a specific one (E.g. Ready in XXX).
This new Child Issue is prefilled with specific details into standard/custom fields, and one of those fields is a translation of a custom field (Numeric value) with smart value to fill in the Original Estimate.
(Example: On the Parent Issue, the Developer fills in the Original Estimate, and the QA Tester updates the numeric field called "QA Task (Test hours)" - the value from the QA field is translated within the automation [smart value] to prefill the Original Estimate on the Child Issue).
If a Developer fills in "Time Tracking" on the Parent, the standard calculation kicks in and displays "Time Spent" and "Time Remaining".
We observed that the "Time Remaining" value is also inherited to the Child's Issue - there is nothing in Automation to represent this behavior, and therefore I am not entirely sure why Time Remaining is inherited, instead of setting it to the same value as Original Estimate.
Parent (Orignal estimate 4h)
Child (Original estimate 1d)
