Auto Closing Sub-Tasks or Linked Tickets

We have several sub-tasks tickets associated with what we call a "Parent" ticket. Sometimes the parent ticket gets closed but we don't or forget to close the sub-tasks. I want to eliminate this extra step and have any sub-tasks tickets close if the parent ticket is closed. Possibly in the future do this for Linked Tickets. Any ideas on how to achieve this for sub-task tickets?
