Auto assign task to a certain sprint when two are running in parallel

Hello everyone!

The Dev team I work for allows for sprints to run in parallel that overlap by 1 week for business reasons. I have jira automation rule in place that assigns any newly created task to the current sprint, however, when the new sprint overlaps the old by a week, all new tasks get auto assigned to the old sprint. 

Is there a way that I can update the rule so it assigns the newly created task to the sprint with the higher number? I've tried playing around with smart values but haven't had much luck.

Would love any suggestions!
