Automate issue to go to a different project board

Julie Reviglio July 3, 2022

Hi,

I'm organising a work process but the only way to make this work is to move issues to other boards to be dealt with, then move it back to the original board

For example:

Product 1A is created in Project Board A, transitions across board until it comes to Rebate Column. Then need Jira automated to move the issue "product 1A" over to Project Board B, transition across their board until invoice is paid. Then we need to move the issue "product 1A" back to original Project Board to finish sale.

So we have Product 1A being created in Project Board A, moving to Project Board B, then moving again back to Project Board A, all while transitioning through each board

How can I do this?????

Help

This question is more about what boards are for than your issue data.

Boards are not issue containers, there is no such thing as "move from one board to another".  A board shows us an issue when the board selects for the issue.  There is no way to automate "move issue to another board", because the boards are built off their searches.  The closest you can get is:

"Change data on an issue, such that it stops matching board A's filter and starts matching the filter for board B".  It's not a "move", but it looks like one.
