We're shifting to a 'now/next/later' type approach to development, and using sprint field to host the "Now" items. This sprint won't particularly end, we're just using this field as a way to hold the highest priority (essentially, hacking a way to get a backlog with groupings).
I can't figure out how to set up an automation wherein if the value of an issue changes (either sprint or priority fields), then to update the opposite.
If Priority 1/2, then Sprint should be "Now".
However, if "Now" was set first, then Priority should change to "2" (in this case).
If Priority 3, then Sprint should be "Next". If Sprint was set to Next, then Priority should update.
I have attempted this a few ways, but honestly haven't gotten far at all and abandoned all work after a step or two. Can't quite figure out how to do the "if priority set, branch actions, else if sprint set, now these".
Advice?
Hi @Louise Baker ,
Have you tried Jira Product Discovery (JPD). If I understand your use case correctly, I believe that JPD could be a good fit for what you're trying to accomplish (backlog with grouping).
yes we do use this, but JPD isn't what we're looking for here. thanks though!
