Automatically change the end date of the sprint when a n new issue is created.

Kaushal Arwal July 31, 2023

Hello All,

I want to change the end date of the sprint whenever a new issue is moved to that sprint or a new issue is created in that sprint.

I can provide hours on the task and JIRA automatically calculates the day and update the sprint end date.

Hi @Kaushal Arwal - There is no "Edit Sprint" action provided in automation.  You could potentially use the Send Web Request action to hit the Jira API if you're handy with writing a JSON rest API call.

I would be remiss if I didn't caution you that this is not how sprints are intended to be managed.  Sprints should be a simple boxed timeframe (e.g. always Weds - Tues every other week) for enabling a timeline consistency to measure velocity.  Teams get together at the beginning of each sprint to plan out what they think they can get done over that sprint using their historical velocity as a guide to establish predictability.
