Automatically crate subtasks when story is created

Can anyone assist me on this. Whenever I am creating a story, a sub task should also be created. Somebody told me some kind of plug in is required

Yes, you will need an add-on.  There are some that do little more than "create issue when a post-function runs" - you can add those post-functions to the "create" process (be careful not to loop them though!)

There are others which give you a lot of flexibility on top of that.  ScriptRunner, Power Scripts and Automation are three that are very powerful kits for doing all sorts of things, including creating sub-tasks on almost any event.

If your use-case is pretty basic then this is pretty easy to get started with.

In that case, your simplest bet would be to pay/install for Jira misc. workflow extension plugin and add a postfunction to create a subtasks on the create transition.
