We have a company managed project with a custom field called Epic Link. I want to add automation when an issue is created with either a Debt or Bug issue type, the Epic Link field is automatically updated with the value of a single epic.

I can't seem to find a way to do this with the current Link Issue automation, as am hopeful someone here can steer me in the right direction. Many thanks.

Hi @Colum McAndrew ,

can you share a screenshot of what you have so far? Also, you mention your custom field is named “Epic Link”? That might not be the best name given there is already a system field with that name. It might even explain the issue you are having with your automation. Finally what do you mean by “the value of a single epic”.

Thanks for responding @Jack Brickey

I may have misled you in saying the "Epic Link" was a custom field. What I'm trying to achieve, is to have the Epic Link field filled in automatically whenever a Debt or Bug ticket is created inside our project. We create an epic each quarter to act as a holder for all the tickets, so the value of the field will be this epic.

Here is where I am so far.
