Automation for duplicate tickets

How to create this automation 

If resolution of issue is changed to "duplicate" 

1) Add a comment with the original epic link

2) detach issue from its parent  epic

Hi @Samrudhi Shete -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

How do you identify an issue is a duplicate of another issue?

An automation rule could only do what you ask if you can identify the issue, such as with information in a field, and then use JQL to access the issue for linking.

If the issue is closed by saying its duplicate then can we add a action comment which will be epic link of its parent and then detect it from parent epic

I do not understand what you are describing...

  • What are the manual steps you are performing, and
  • what do you want to have happen automatically in the rule?
