Hey everyone,

looking to prompt the devs to add a comment whenever they change the stories to blocked with an explanation as to why it is blocked. this is a status update, no need to move columns. This can be for items either in the sprint or in the backlog.

thanks!

@SAVANNAH HUGHES , welcome!

You can do this by configuring the flow, here's what to do:

Create a canvas in Jira

Here's how to create: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-screens/

After creating the screen, follow this step by step:

Access the project settings;
Access Worfklows
Select to "Edit" the Workflow of the issuetype where you want to apply the change;
Select the transition that takes the issue to blocked status.

When you click on the transition, you will see the following in the right corner of the screen:

75.PNG

Click "EDIT". This screen will be displayed:
76.PNG
In "Screens" you must select the screen you created in the first step.

Then you can save the flow.

So every time the transition is executed to "blocked" a popup will appear for the user to inform a comment and this comment can be the reason why the issue is going to blocked.

Let me know if you have any questions.
