I have the following requirement:

On subtask creation can we default the assignee to the creator of the subtask.

I setup a automation rule on this project:

I have tried everything but my sub task is not updating with the creator when it is created.

Please could you assist?

Hi @Vanessa Becker

just for a better understanding on my side. From opening post you I seem to have understood by creating a sub-task you want to set assignee = reporter but your Automation rule seems to show you want to copy the assignee from parent issue.

Which route do you want to go and is one of it working - or are you still stuck with implementation?

Thanks and best regards,
Daniel

Hi Vanessa,

Try this:

Change the branch to a simple Condition based on issue field. Use Issue Type = Sub-task

Then add a New Action for Edit Issue

Select Assignee, then click on Copy From Current Issue

Then click on the words Current Issue which will show a drop down.

Select to copy from the Reporter field.
