Autowatch children when an epic is watched

Hi,

We'd like to automate this: "when I add myself in the watchers of an epic, I want to be automatically added to the watchers of all the children of this epic".

Both in Jira Automations and in ScriptRunner Listeners, the "issue updated" event doesn't take into account when the watchers list is updated (we have Jira Standard and ScriptRunner for Jira).

Do you have any advice on how to implement this automation?

Cheers.

Hello @Emilie

I haven't yet figured out a way to catch the change to Watchers in an Automation Rule.

However, as an alternative, you could create a manually triggered Automation rule that a user could use to add themselves as a watcher to the current issue (confirming in the rule that the current issue is an Epic) and add them as a watcher to all the child issues.

Thanks @Trudy Claspill

I missed this manual triggering option, and indeed, this is a good alternative for now!
