I have a Jira Software installed with version 8.4, we would like to update to 8.17, but first I would like to know how to make a backup, to return if the update goes wrong.
Welcome to the Atlassian community where peers will try to help you out.
You should refer to the documentation for Jira 8.4 at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver084/backing-up-data-979405206.html for full details on backing up data.
Phill
Thank you Phil for the info & link. I am struggling with backing up onto my desktop the complete test & test result which was done on Jira X-ray. the link does not direct me and would appreciate your feedback.
Also, the link suggests native database backup tools instead of Jira's XML backup service. what tool or tools would be most suitable?
