Hi, i started sprint but have not use Jira. Currently if i mark my completed task in a go, i am getting a flat horizontal burndown chart and a sudden dip. Is there a way to update the completed date that is pegged to the status when marked completed?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

That's how burn is supposed to work - a line with sudden vertical jags when an issue changes from not-done to done.  You burn the estimate only when the story completes.

You can't change the history of the issue, you should mark the issue done when it genuinely is, not at the end of the sprint or later as an admin task.

Hi @Chee Shun -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

No, that is not possible for past dates, and it may not be helpful for a team.

The issue history helps describe what happened to an item over time.  If we could edit that history it could not be relied upon as "history".  Instead please consider why the issue was not marked at the correct time and how to improve marking issues as they complete.

If I am misunderstanding your question, please post an image of your burndown chart to provide more context.  Thanks!

Kind regards,
Bill
