I have multiple next-gen kanban projects with backlogs. I created a classic project in order to create a single kanban board that includes all issues from the next-gen projects. It works, except that issues that are in the backlogs appear in the first column of the main kanban board, together with the issues that are "ready for development".
Is there a way to create an issue in the backlog without assigning a status to it? Alternatively, is there a way to identify issues that are in the backlog without depending on the issue status?
Hello Luis,
How are you? I hope you are having a nice day.
Per your description, the thing that is not working as you expect is that issues from your next-gen projects are appearing in the same "Backlog" column that the issues in the status "ready for development", is that correct?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to create issues without a status assigned to it. Statuses represent the stage the issue is currently at in its lifecycle, so it is a necessary field in its creation.
For your current scenario, I suggest you to navigate to your board settings > Columns and map the issue statuses to different columns or add a common status to all the issues in your backlog column.
