Best way to convert an existing tar.gz install to a bin upgrade?

I have a Jira instance that was installed using the tar.gz method.   I'd like to convert it to us the bin files going forward.  What is the best way to accomplish this.  
I know the Jira Home directory and I know the application-data directory - there are not a lot of customizations it's just that the previous admin preferred tar.gz over the bin.
