Best way to deal with idea voting (JSM or Jira Software)?

Hi all,

We are thinking of having a voting functionality for ideas that come through for our agency, this could be larger then just software planning/story/feature.  At first we looked at JSM since the portal is an area that everyone is able to go to, but it doesn't look like voting functionality is for customers, just internal only?

We also have Jira Software so that is indeed another direction as it does includes the "Voting" functionality. But it does look a little small, a tiny thumbs up on the side doesn't really give the idea of "have your say/vote here".

Interested if anyone else has done this and found a clearer way to for users to "vote" + provide ideas on an idea thats more then just "Software Development" story view.

Cheers

Hello @Calvin ,
Votes option is only available way per native jira functionality.

Reactions, and rating is available in JPD
Survey in JSM is an option.
Even, no custom-field may help here, as none have voting mechanism.
Try to check for issue collector, which may give feedback.

Else, marketplace could be a case - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=votes&product=jira

Thanks mate this is a really good answer, didn't think about using the Survey option or JPD. Will take a look with the team if I can get by with the inbuilt vote, otherwise will follow up with one of these. Thanks
