Hi All,
I have a question regarding the skill capacity and its division. Lets say I have a resource which has 2 skills and the resource works for 8 hours a day. By default, BigPicture will divide the 8 hours equally between the two skills of 4 hours each.
Lets say the resource works for 7 hours on a task which needs only one skill. So, Technically the resource capacity is still left by 1 hour and is not overloaded, but the skill capacity for that specific skill will show overloaded by 3 hours.
Is there a way to modify this equal allocation of skill capacity in BigPicture? Can this be customised based on the above scenario?
Thanks.
Adjust Skill Capacity Allocation:
In BigPicture, you can manually adjust the skill capacity allocation for each resource.
Identify the resource in question and modify the skill capacity allocation according to the actual workload and requirements.
For example, if the resource spends more time on tasks that require Skill A, you can allocate a higher portion of the resource's capacity to Skill A compared to Skill B.
Consider Task Assignments:
When assigning tasks to resources, consider the skills required for each task.
If a task primarily requires one specific skill, assign it to resources with expertise in that skill to ensure efficient utilization of capacity.
Review and Adjust Resource Assignments:
Regularly review resource assignments and workload distribution to ensure that resources are allocated effectively based on their skills and availability.
Adjust assignments as needed to prevent overloading of specific skills or resources.
Utilize Workload and Capacity Views:
Use BigPicture's workload and capacity views to visualize resource allocations and identify any imbalances or overloads.
Monitor skill capacity utilization to ensure that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively across different tasks and projects.
Hi @Sudarsana G , that's very interesting. I am also facing a similiar problem. I could not actually execute what you explained. I do not know how to manually adjust the skill capacity allocation for each resource.
Can you also please explain how to allocate a higher portion of the resource's capacity to Skill A compared to Skill B. ?
Thank you !
