Board Flexible Filter

Hello Dears;

Is there a way to create a board filter with a drop-down list, or with an input field??

I have a project with 9 developers, and I want to create a board filter to show each developer's tasks, without creating nine filters!!

I know I can use the advanced search and specify the assignee, but the search interface does not show the status of the issues.

Thanks in advance.

Ibrahim

Hi @Ibrahim Ghalghay

There is an easier way for all of you to do that.  Just below your kanban title, there are some avatars. Each user will see HIS/HER avatar first in line. If they press it, they will only see their issues.

This is what I strongly recommend. Other solutions would be:

  • To create a board for each dev (too much overhead)
  • To create swimlanes on your board based on assignee (rather quick for you, 9 devs are a lot of swimlanes, assuming that you only have 9 users in this project)
  • To create components and use that (not recommended that much)
  • To create a JQL filter with assignee = currentUser() and share it with your devs. Each time your dev will run it, it will only show his/her tasks. You might create a subscription filter, to send them an email with all their tasks.

Let me know if that helps.

Thank you @Alex Koxaras _Relational_ for your thoughtful reply

In fact, I have been using Jira for 4 months, from beginners into advanced features (transition permissions, automation, a little JQL...) but did not notice these avatars till today.

Thanks again,

Ibrahim
