Boards are missing after restore from zip file

Support October 4, 2018

We are updating from 7.3.3 to 7.12 and I tested the process on a backup server. After restoring from a xml backup (zip file), there are no boards any more. I can see the menu button, it says "view all boards" when I click, but then there are no boards shown. I can create a new one - but where are the boards gone?

Jira Agile is loaded, but:

Could this be the problem?

Hi Werner,

Boards should be backed up as well! Have you made sure the user account you use is allowed to browse the boards? Have you installed Jira Core + Software as an App or did you install the package with both to restore on this one?

Hope we'll find out what's behind your issue!

Cheers

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, the account is allowed to browse the boards. In the production environment the same user can see the boards. The machine was a clone of the fresh installed Jira production system. I imported a backup to have data for the test update. That was when I realized that our restore is missing all the boards.

Alright, understood.

Seems like I've found a similar case: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Boards-are-not-restoring-from-backup-to-db/qaq-p/679505

Any chance you'd have some errors/warns in the logs as well? Would definitely help!

If it's the case, I would advise you to open a support request with Atlassian directly (or share the logs here if your security policy allows it).

Thanks!
