Bulk edit JIRA groups

For JIRA Software (Cloud), is there a way to bulk edit JIRA groups?  

Issue: We have a bunch of disabled users in various JIRA groups, and we'd like to bulk remove them.  I'd rather not go to each group and click remove or remove the groups from each disabled user's profile.

On a related note, is there any way to automate the removal of JIRA groups upon user deactivation?

This looks to be a Server only solution. I am not aware of a way to do it in Jira Cloud.
