CSV Import Issue : Multiline Text Field data merging with neighbouring field data, by ignoring comma

Hello Team,

I need your quick help please. We are migrating artifacts from CLM to Jira shortly (in a month may be). I am presently in the process of doing a POC on the same and we are trying to first take up defects migration.

I have downloaded defects from RTC into CSV. I have created about 6 Multiline Custom Fields in Jira for Comments, Summary, etc.

While performing the import, field mappings are done correctly, but after the import has completed, the data is merging in the neighboring field only for the Multiline Fields.

For example, I have Comments column in ColumnU and RCA Description in ColumnV. What happens after import is that the Jira field Comments section will have both Comments and RCA Description. Importer is ignoring the comma I guess.

I did try by encapsulating the text in double quotes, I checked the cell formats with General and Text, I did see the character encoding as UTF-8 in all places (Server, Excel, DB, etc). Nothing is working.

Please help. This is now the only factor stopping us from progressing with migration. All the other fields are fine.
