I am trying to import custom fields and having no luck. I have a Shared Project Configuration that serves as a template for new projects. If I try to import a CSV into that template, I get mapping options for custom fields, but when I try to import a CSV into a project created from that shared configuration, I no custom fields are available to map.
I'm scratching my head on this one.
When you use the shared configuration it share the screen scheme, field config scheme, permission scheme, issue type scheme etc.
The custom field which is missing for the project just make sure that custom field is associated to that project and respected issue type. If its not then associate it and then try to import the custom field.
You can confirm this by manually creating issue in that project and see that custom field you can see while creating issue or not.
Accept the answer if it helps
Thanks, this was the problem. I had custom fields associated with a project that is shared configuration, but those custom fields are not available in projects created from that shared configuration.

Hi Jeff,
I would check to make sure the custom fields you are looking to map to have a context that allows them to be used in the additional projects.
Here is some more info on custom field contexts: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-custom-field-context/

Yes, I think the key is don't restrict custom fields that are associated with a shared configuration, unless your intent is to limit their use in the projects that use that shared configuration.
