Hello Team,
I am trying to import a bunch of issues into JIRA 7.6.4 through a CSV file. The file consists of multiple comments from different users.
I want "eriper" (as highlighted in the attached screenshot) to be the one who has commented but unfortunately in this case it takes the user(Consultant-Jowaheer Khushbu who is importing the csv file).
Subject/Title,create time,Close time,Assignee,state,Priority,Type,Comment,Comment,Reporter
Queue for MCB Select,5/16/2018 11.00 ,5/16/2018 12.00,Unassigned,new,3 Medium,Service Request,5/16/2018 11.00; eriper; comment1,5/16/2018 11.00; eriper; comment2,ERIPER
Please assist.
Thanks,
Khushbu
Try to use double quotes for example around dates and comment section. Example
Assignee, Summary, Description, Attachment, Comment
Admin, "Issue summary", "Please check the attached image below.", "https://jira-server:8080/secure/attachment/image-name.png", "01/01/2012 10:10;Admin; This comment works"
Admin, "CSV import with timestamp, author and filename", "Please check the attached image below.", "01/01/2012 13:10;Admin;image.png;file://image-name.png", "01/01/2012 10:10;Admin; This comment works"
Hello Mirek,
I have added the double quotes but it still remains the same.

Is user actually ERIPER or eriper? Is this example the one that create those two example comments from the screenshot? If yes, where is the "Description" value?

Hello Mirek,
The username is "eriper". I have not included the "Description" value in my case.
I apologise for providing the wrong screenshot, but i tried replacing the "description" with "comment1" and "comment2" I get the same as shown in the screenshot.
Actually I was trying to import issues for a JIRA Service Desk project. Is it because of this reason the import did not go well or maybe I am missing something somewhere?
Thanks,
Khushbu

Unfortunately I am not seeing the whole picture in order to say what might be wrong. You would need to at least put as example exactly one CSV row that you would like to import and the result of it, so that we can check. As a alternative solution you can also start "slowly" by adding more and more information to CSV (column by colum) and check when you observer the problem. You can also try to add only comments to an existing issue.
This documentation might help you preparing a good file:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Hello Mirek,
I has been able to import the comment with the correct author and correct date.
The issue was the date format. Jira has a standard date format which is dd/mmm/yy h:mm a. So i had to change the date format in the comment as per this format.
Thanks,
Khushbu
