Can I Mark Former Employees As Inactive?

Eudora Linde March 24, 2020

A few former employees still show up on our master board that all projects funnel through. They appear at the top of the board through their avators.

I don't necessarily want to delete them, as I want any comments they made, as well as any tickets they created, to remain. Important to note they no longer have Jira access as well.

Is there any way I can "archive" those profiles or hide them while maintaining the integrity of what they've contributed to our Jira projects?

Hi Eudora,

Yes, you can do that - it's best practice to inactivate users after they leave the organisation (and not delete them). It should also reduce your monthly bill :)

To inactivate a user, head to https://admin.atlassian.com/

Then click on Manage Users for the appropriate site.

Under Show Details, you can then remove access for the inactive users.
