Can I automate an export ticket and attach back in Jira

Chris Amos July 3, 2020

We store details of releases etc in confluence, for audit reasons we would like to freeze/baseline the jira tickets involved at the point we release.

We have jira server and scriptrunner for Jira.

What I was thinking is that it must be possible to

  • Catch the transition to closed.
  • Export to printable format
  • Print to PDF
  • Attach PDF back to the jira ticket

Then we would always have the state at closed saved to satisfy any audit.

Does it seem feasible, do I need more add-ins?

I cannot believe this is a rare requirement, is there a addin I could not find when I looked?

Hey @Chris Amos

I can think of this in a few different ways. I suppose you have a list of the required information you would need to "freeze". Would be an option to capture the details you need and add them as a comment during the transition?
