Can I create a kanban board for all projects in a plan?

deseymour October 14, 2025

I have multiple projects within a plan in Jira and I would like to be able to create a board for all work in the plan. Is this possible? I can't find any documentation on kanban boards in plans.

Hello @deseymour ,

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)

Plans are a cross-project planning view. They let you see multiple projects, epics, and issues in a single timeline or hierarchy. They are not boards. Whereas boards (Kanban or Scrum) are a visual representation of the workitem.

You can create a board that shows all issues across multiple projects that are included in the plan. You can create a filter and add it to the board.
Filter will look something like this:
project IN (PROJECT1, PROJECT2, PROJECT3, PROJECT4)

Thank you!

Hi @deseymour

Boards are only a feature on a project, not on Plans.

You can create a board on one project and create a filter that brings in work items from multiple projects.
