When I am reporting my test results, I like to include a list of all the tasks or bugs covered by a test suite. Is there an easy way to create a list of these that includes the issue/task number and the one-line description? I have been manually copying them and it's not easy.
welcome to the community!
If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you might like the app that my team is working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting and filtering by all your issue fields. You can also easily copy/paste your field values - individually, or in bulk - either within JXL, from other apps into JXL, and from JXL into other apps. This is how it looks in action:
(It's worth noting that JXL can do much for than that - from support for issue hierarchies and grouping, to sum-ups, to conditional formatting.)
You may already know that you can trial any app for free for 1 month, and depending on the size of your site, it may be free forever. So perhaps give it a try and see if it provides value to you!
Hope this helps,
Best,
Hannes
@Jennifer Redwine I'd write a JQL filter that includes all the issues in the current test suite. Then from the the filters search page you will see an export option (upper right-hand corner of the page). From there you can experiment with different exports. I usually use the .csv export as this gives me the most flexibility.
A side note. Be careful exporting with the option of all fields. This can be a lot of data especially if you have a decent number of fields on your issue. Better to use the option for my defaults (these are the fields you see on the screen).
