Can I create a subtask of a task completed in previous sprint and assign it to Active Sprint?

Hello to all Jira friends here,

A month after a task was transitioned to done status in an already completed sprint, I needed to create a new subtask related to the old task. However, I couldn't assign the new sub-task to an Active Sprint. Is there anyway I can assign this kind of sub-task to an Active Sprint? If not, how you keep the connection between the tasks?

Thanks,

Roi

No.  A sub-task is part of its parent, which is in a sprint already.  It is nonsense to have a sub-task in a different sprint to the one it is in because it is part of a parent issue.
