Can I export a project so someone else can copy our project settings?

Chris Barrett March 8, 2023

The title basically sys it all here, but here are some details.

I work with an external client that has been using our Jira. He likes the way we have it set up and he is a Jira novice.  He wants to set up a Jira for his own team that is the same as what we have used.  My question: Is there an easy way for me to share or project settings with him? Or is there a way to export our project so he can import it and create his own?

Unfortunately there is not a way to do this natively.  There is an add-on that can be used, but it requires that both people have this add-on installed.  And even then, it copies a whole lot of extra data that could potentially expose information about your site to them.

If you are still interested here it is - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211611/configuration-manager-for-jira-cmj?tab=overview&hosting=cloud

It would be overkill to use an add-on like this, but if the client really wants an "Easy" way, this is it.

Well, that's a bummer. Thanks for the reply!
