We manage all of our development in Story Points. However we also have a need for logging time against projects. I would like to be able to continue to allocate story points to my stories/tasks etc, But I also want the ability to log work (in time) against that story. Not so that I can judge how much time a story takes, but so that I can see what a project is costing n real Hours and Minutes.

I do not want to set time estimations, just time spent

Any ideas?

Thanks

Just in case you use Next-Gen projects, time tracking is not available there. Using third-party add-ons is the only solution in that case.

Hello @Marc_Wilding

Yes, you can surely log work against the story. Just make sure you have "Log work" permission in the project to which story belong.

The shortcut key to log work on a jira ticket is just press "w" on the ticket and work log window will open(if you have rights) and then you ca log work.

You can also query in JQL the logged work using the field "timespent" in JQL.

You should have the "Work on issues" permission to log work on the issues of an project.
