Can I save off our Jira instance as a read only database since we are ending our subscription?

We have started using another system but don't want to lose years of work in our Jira software instance, is it possible to have access to it as a read only instance instead of a user supported instance?

@Nicole Williams If you are using JIRA Cloud, you can take an XML backup and migrate this into a newly created JIRA Server Dev instance running a latest JIRA version. Or you can keep this backup safe and restore it into a compatible JIRA Server version at a later time.
