Can I see different versions/iterations of tasks in Jira?

Wanting to see what was changed and when from each time a task is edited.  Is this a possibility at the task level?  I know you can create versions at the project level but I'm looking for task level.

You do not have a version control of the issue itself, but there is an audit trail on all changes and you can see that under the History and Activity tabs in the issue details view.
