Our team is handling multiple projects, so we have to create multiple sprints under each project. At a glance is there way to view the burndown chart of all the current active sprints ? Can I measure aggregate velocity of all the active sprints
In case my understanding is correct, a Burndown Chart shows the actual and estimated amount of work to be done in a sprint. As per the documentation Understanding the Burndown Chart, the Burndown Chart is board-specific – that is, it will only include issues that match your board's saved filter. Since the Burndown chart is specifically created to report on issues in a given Sprint, it can not be used to track the work in multiple sprints.
Reference documentation: View and understand the burndown chart
However, we have a feature request open to allow multiple sprint burndown charts, see the link below.
Upon searching for some workarounds, I stumbled upon a Community article suggesting trying out a marketplace add-on to achieve this feature: Great Gadgets add-on (available for both Jira Server and Jira Cloud). It offers a "Release Burndown Burnup" dashboard gadget that is based on a filter. All you have to do is create a filter that includes the issues from all your teams/projects and configure the gadget to use it. This way you will have a cross-teams or cross-projects Burndown Chart. The chart will be displayed on Jira dashboards (not in the Reports section of the project)
For more details about how to configure, it can be found in the add-on's documentation: https://bitbucket.org/StonikByte/great-gadgets-add-on/wiki/Home#!release-burnup-burndown-chart But I think the best way is to give it a try and play with it. For further questions or support, you can also contact the app vendor at support@stonikbyte.com.
