Can I stop JIRA making me a watcher of every issue I create/edit?

We have just installed JIRA 6.1.7.

This version automatically sets the creator and editor of any issue as a 'Watcher'.

We do not want this to happen.

Can you please tell me how to disable it?

Answer accepted

Look in your user profile for "autowatch" and turn it off. Consider doing the same in the default user profile.
