Can I update JIRA using the admin interface?

Plugins can be updated / upgraded using the UPM in the admin section of our JIRA instance, can something similar be done for JIRA itself? I know it is not built in (and I need to log in to the server and run the upgrade there) but maybe there's a plugin that would allow this? Or some workaround? Thanks.

No, that's a massive task.  Atlassian are moving gradually towards it, with more and more modular stuff, but it's a way off yet.
