Can I upgrade from JIRA software version 7.6.4 straight to the latest release (8.9)? If yes, can you please point me to the documentation. Thanks!

Hi @Paul Bien and welcome to Community!

You can indeed upgrade straight from 7.6 to 8.9, look at the following page: Upgrading Jira applications manually 

You'll also need to check the latest sizing guide and supported platforms.

I'd recommend you to go to Jira 8.5 instead of 8.9, it is an Enterprise release so it's safer for security updates and bug fixes (more information here).
